Malware is a mutated Galvanic Mechamorph. Having his DNA corrupted at “birth”, Malware can’t possess technology and machinery, but instead can absorb them and upgrade himself with them, destroying the tech in the process. He blames his condition on Azmuth, the creator of the Galvanic Mechamorphs, so he swears vengeance upon him as well as desiring his greatest creation, the Omnitrix, so that he can transform into a pure Mechamorph for good.

Malware’s situation is Azmuth’s greatest regret. Azmuth feels directly responsible and has tried many times to cure him, but he has too much responisbility to his people and the galaxy at large to purely focus on Malware.

Unlike other Galvanic Mechamorphs, whenever Malware merges with technology, it disintegrates and causes him pain.

Malware can’t possess or control the Omnitrix due to Azmuth’s many fail safes for Mechamorph tampering.

Malware collaborates with a Cerebrocrustacean scientist named Dr Psychobos (who shares a hatred of Azmuth) to create a device even more powerful than the Omnitrix, the Nemetrix. Due to his technological powers, he builds the hardware of the device whilst Pschobos works on the software and DNA transformation.

Malware was once hunted by Khyber, the most feared huntsman in the galaxy, due to his rare mutated nature. But Malware persuades him to surrender and Khyber retreats with respect. Eventually Malware contacts him to collect predator DNA for the Nemetrix.

Despite his hatred for Azmuth, he still considers him his father.

Malware was an angry, psychotic, obsessed and hate-fuelled being, who had always felt that his creator and father Azmuth had seen him as nothing more than a failed experiment who would never impress him. Malware deeply hated the rest of his kind for always being Azmuth's perfect creations and saw them as "flawed"/"inferior" compared to him.
