Dr Aloysius J. Animo was once a respected scientist, specializing in genetics and animal conservation. But his obsession with DNA modification resulted in him becoming insane and breaking numerous crimes involving experimenting on animals. After seeing numerous reports of Alien heroes popping up recently, he was inspired to further enhance his DNA transmodulator to instantly mutate animals into grotesque and powerful monsters. For years his plans for a new world order have repeatedly been thwarted by Ben Tennyson.

At the start of his criminal career, Animo mainly focussed on mutating random animals into large monsters, the more predator-like the better. But one day he obtained a piece of the Omnitrix core, granting him access to over 200 different alien DNA samples. Ben got this piece back eventually.

Animo’s genius is quite impressive for a human, even gaining notoriety from other alien species’. Including some Galvan scientists.

He has teamed up with many of Ben foe’s in order to get revenge on Ben Tennyson. Including Vilgax to create an army of monsters, the Forever Knight to build an Anti-Omnitrix weapon, and Hex to utilize Mythical creatures.

Animo has collaborated with Dr Psychobos, Malware, and Khyber to help build the Nemetrix. He helped develop the DNA mutation mechanism in order to mutate animals into Alien Predators. He used many “pets” as the primary user before settling on an alien dog named Zed.

The Secret Saturdays have been trying to arrest him for years. He has frequently discovered and experimented on cryptids, resulting in their further endangerment. He has even worked with V.V Argost on a few occasions.

Animo’s ultimate goal is to mutate every animal on Earth to bring the animal kingdom back on the top of the food chain. With him as their ruler of course. He will even go as far as to mutate humans into dimmer animal-hybrids for total domination.

Animo had the idea to combine multiple creatures (Earth-bound and Alien) into one horrifying franken-fusion. But the life form he created became sapient and preferred to be peaceful and live a simple life. Ben scanned his cluster-ball of DNA (named Ralph) to see if the Omnitrix could actually replicate him and sure enough it did. Granting Ben a new alien form, Toepick.
